Otley Housing site
UKscrapers had the opportunity to work with Fastsource on an earthmoving project in Otley, involving the excavation of 25,000 cubic metres of subsoil to create plots for houses. Our team was hired to provide two bulldozers, some GPS equipment and skilled operators for the project.
One of the challenges of this project was the timing, as it took place during one of the worst weather storms in the UK's recent history, the "Beast from the East." Despite the difficult weather conditions, our team was able to complete the work in a timely and efficient manner.
The excavation involved removing ashy subsoils to build levels for the houses to be constructed on. To ensure proper compaction, we towed compaction rollers and compacted the subsoil in layers. Our team also used GPS technology to trim a portion of the site to the required tolerance.
As mentioned before, UKscrapers was not working on a contract but was on hire for this project. Despite this, our team approached the work with the same level of dedication and professionalism as we do for all our projects. We were able to work collaboratively with Fastsource to achieve the desired outcome within the project timeline.
Overall, the Otley project was a challenging but rewarding experience for UKscrapers. Our team was able to showcase our expertise in earthmoving and use of advanced earthmoving technology, such as GPS, for precise earthworks. Additionally, our ability to work effectively during adverse weather conditions is a testament to our commitment to providing quality workmanship and meeting project deadlines.
