UKscrapers had the pleasure of working as a subcontractor for Earthworks Solutions (EWSL) on the earthworks project for multiple industrial units in Gildersome Leeds. Our Section of the project included a topsoil strip of 24,000 cubic metres and a cut and fill process of 76,000 cubic metres with compaction. The primary objective was to create plateaus for the industrial units by compacting the subsoil in layers, while adhering to a rigorous testing regime created by EWSL.
The Earthworks process was facilitated by UKscrapers, EWSL and VA services, we provided state-of-the-art equipment and expertise. Our team used GPS satellite equipment to ensure precision during the earthworks process. The topsoil strip was completed before beginning the cut and fill process, which involved moving 76,000 cubic metres of subsoil and compacting it in 300mm layers to create plateaus for the industrial units, which were then finished using a UKS GPS equipped trimming bulldozer to achieve a very fine 20mm tolerance on the finish.
UKscrapers facilitated EWSL's rigorous testing regime to ensure correct compaction through the use of towed and self driven rollers. The testing team employed by EWSL used nuclear density gauge testing and plate testing to ensure that the subsoil was compacted in layers to the required specifications. UKscrapers also ensured access to the site for the testing team to carry out their work.
Environmental considerations were of the utmost importance to UKscrapers and EWSL. Our company used environmentally friendly methods to excavate, cart and stockpile the topsoil for EWSL to dispose of. Both UKS and EWSL adhered to strict environmental guidelines throughout the project.
In conclusion, UKscrapers was proud to work as a subcontractor for EWSL on the earthworks project for the industrial units in Gildersome Leeds. Our team provided state-of-the-art equipment and expertise to ensure that the project was carried out to the highest standards. We facilitated EWSL's rigorous testing regime and ensured that the project was completed on time, within budget, and with minimal impact on the environment.
